I have been in love with acting, film, television, and theatre since I can remember: The power, the vulnerability, the sheer human-ness of it, the artistry, and the dedication to making every single moment matter. That’s what I do with every opportunity I am given: Make it matter, make it count for something. This is my driving force to be better and do better in every aspect of my career. I want to be more flexible, more vulnerable, more intentional, more powerful, more positive, and more human than I was the day before. Acting challenges me to understand myself, and to understand the world more every day.
As a musician I have found both theatre and music to be mutually inclusive in my life. I would put aside one to focus on the other and I would begin to miss the one I left behind. I have needed and loved both so much in my life; How could I possibly live without both. So, here I am taking every and any opportunity to perform both as possible; Ideally at the same time.
My first love will always be Shakespeare; His writings are like music and enable me to perform at levels I never thought I could. I have found such unending depth in his works that I never want to stop unearthing the meanings and musings of every line and part.
I have furthered my education in Shakespeare and classical acting by spending two summers in London the ROYAL ACADEMY OF DRAMATIC ART in 2016 and 2019. The last ten days off each program were spent performing a shortened version of a play: The first, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, and the second, CYMBELINE. I consider both productions to be some of the greatest and most fulfilling performances I have given to date.
